Favorite Weekend Getaways

Over the course of the past few months, I have traveled to places I would never have even thought to visit and also places I have dreamed about visiting all my life. My favorite place I have visited falls into the former category. I never expected to go to Budapest, and, frankly, I wasn’t even sure where it was before I went. Going to Hungary was one of the most enriching and surprising parts of my abroad experience. There I saw one of the most powerful memorials to the Holocaust (pairs of shoes lined up along the Danube) and learned that Hungary was significantly involved with Nazi Germany, something I never knew before. Aside from the history, Budapest was filled with amazing architecture that blew me away. The other most memorable part of my trip was the Széchenyi baths. I have never felt so relaxed or rejuvenated. I hope to return to Budapest some day very soon!

My favorite place I have been, thus far, during study abroad is The Black Forest of Germany. Not only is the area unique and the architecture amazing, but my family is from the Black Forest. So, it was an amazing  experience!

My favorite weekend getaway was when I visited The cliffs of Moher and Dublin- it was my favorite because of the culture. It was not like anything else I've experienced before. Being at the cliffs allowed me to reflect on everything and be thankful for all that I have in life.
